REHAU Automotive project honored with elogistics award 2022

08.06.2022

With the elogistics award, the AKJ Automotive working group primarily honors innovative projects that combine logistics and information processing. With its "Plan for every Part", REHAU Automotive secured the award in the category "Innovative Process Planning".

"Awakening - strategies and path for a sustainable transformation in the supply chain" - this was the motto of the 37th annual congress of the AKJ Automotive working group, during which Jürgen Barke, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digital Affairs and Energy and Deputy Minister President of Saarland, presented the elogistics award together with the members of the jury for the 27th time. Two projects were awarded this year, including the "Plan for every Part" submitted by REHAU Automotive.

With the aim of standardizing and optimizing processes, REHAU Automotive Supply Chain Management designed a holistic "data house" for all productrelated master data (static as well as dynamic) arising in the value chain. PFEP-REHAU" (Plan For Every Part) enables REHAU Automotive to respond optimally to agile requirements in customer projects: IT solutions can be aligned with business processes and complexity reduced, information is provided specifically and across departments, data transparency and consistency is increased, and data is available to all members of the value chain in a timely manner and optimized for the application. In this way, the automotive supplier accelerates standard work processes, reduces transport times and gains floor space. "In the process, we are also systematically developing the application and thus creating the data basis for setting up a virtual factory," says Florian Heller, Head of Global Supply Chain Management REHAU Automotive, looking to the future. The integration of the company's own suppliers via web interface is also being considered.

"The requirements for automotive suppliers are becoming increasingly complex. We need flexibility and cost efficiency to meet these demands. The data house supports us in our global network and creates transparency in our processes," emphasizes REHAU Automotive COO Michael Colberg.  The company intends to use the positive experience gained from the project for further customer projects.
