Effective September 1st, 2024 REHAU Automotive has completed the sale of its European automotive gaskets and extrusions business to the American company VINTECH. The business will be managed with immediate impact by VINTECH Industries.
REHAU Automotive, a trusted partner to international vehicle manufacturers, develops, manufactures, and supplies high-quality exterior, bumper, and polymer functional systems. With a workforce of 7,000 employees across 25 locations in nine countries, REHAU Automotive is committed to making polymer solutions for the automotive industry lighter, safer, and more sustainable. REHAU Automotive is part of the global REHAU Group, which employs around 20,000 people and generates annual sales exceeding 4.5 billion euros.
VINTECH Industries, a privately held company with a strong financial foundation, is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. The company operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, Mexico, Portugal, and China. With over 20 years of experience, VINTECH is a global partner to the automotive industry, developing, manufacturing, and supplying plastic extrusion, co-extrusion, injection molding, and roll-formed functional and design parts (Class-A) to more than 150 customers worldwide. The company employs more than 500 people globally and generates approximately 75 million euros in annual sales.
Dr Markus Distelhoff, CEO of REHAU Automotive, said: ‘We are convinced that VINTECH Industries is the ideal buyer for our European sealing and extrusion business. This strategic transaction will secure the future of over 100 employees at the Jevíčko site in the Czech Republic.’
The components produced through the extrusion process, such as roof joint strips, retaining rails, and window shaft covers, play a crucial role in protecting vehicle interiors from dirt, noise, and rainwater. These products are part of the Sealing division at REHAU Automotive. Following the decision in 2020 to exit this business area, REHAU has not sought new orders and has concentrated production at the Jevíčko facility. The sale to VINTECH Industries marks the culmination of this strategic realignment.
Jim Schoonover, President, and CEO of VINTECH, added, "The Czech site perfectly complements our European production network, offering us even more opportunities. We are excited to welcome our new colleagues, customers, and suppliers into the VINTECH family."
Together, we look forward to seamless business continuity and the continuation of production in Jevíčko.
